Moments after chasing down and riddling his estranged wife with bullets on Charlotte Street, Georgetown, on Tuesday, 36-year-old Alroy Solomon turned his weapon on their 10-year-old son, shooting the boy in the chest, before fatally shooting himself.The woman, identified as Teekadai Atiya Solomon, 36, was killed in front of her rented apartment at Lot 199 Charlotte and Bourda Street, shortly before noon.Police said the suspect arrived at the property around 11:50 hrs in a black motorcar (registration GUY 94). He ran into the yard where his wife and son lived, triggering screams and several gunshots. Teekadai attempted to escape but was pursued onto the street, where Alroy shot her multiple times, causing her to collapse on the roadway.The armed man then returned to the yard, where he fired a single round at their son, striking him to the left side of his lower chest. He later turned the gun on himself, discharging a round to the left side of his head.Public-spirited persons rushed the injured boy to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.Police confirmed that Teekadai sustained at least nine gunshot wounds, including to her chest, abdomen, hip, forehead and limbs. Crime Scene investigators recovered a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing six live rounds, along with a spent shell near the suspect.The couple, who had lived at North East La Penitence, had been separated for about two months due to domestic issues. Teekadai had since relocated to Charlotte Street with her son.The bodies of both Teekadai and Alroy Solomon are at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting post-mortem examination.
