Three former Iowa high school football standouts were named captains for upcoming NCAA Division I football games this weekend.MORE: Top Iowa high school prospect to play both college football, basketball at Texas A&MFrom the University of Iowa, Ethan Hurkett and Logan Jones will serve as captains vs. UAlbany on Saturday evening. Hurkett is a graduate of Cedar Rapids Xavier and Jones is from Lewis Central.Another Big Ten Conference school, Nebraska, has named former Mount Pleasant standout Henry Lutovsky as one of six captains, as voted on by the Husker players.Hurkett, a 6-foot-3 defensive lineman, is a graduate student for the Hawkeyes this year. He earned honorable mention all-Big Ten last season after starting all 13 games while recording 56 tackles with 11.5 for loss and 6.5 sacks.Jones, also a graduate student, checks in at 6-foot-3 and over 300 pounds. A member of the Iowa offensive line, he was selected to multiple preseason All-America teams and was a first team all-Big Ten pick last year.Lutovsky, a fifth-year senior at Nebraska, is the starting left guard along the offensive line.
