I have family member well into his 70s. His Dr wrote an actual prescription for a mini can of Coke daily for the calories and energy. When he was in the hospital for this or that sometimes a nurse would try to tell him it wasn't good for him but we would point out the actual prescription and that was that. There was also a busybody family member who tried to control him, we'd just tell her to take it up with the doctor, he got it no matter what she thought.
