(Representational Image/File)The Mumbai police cracked the murder of a man whose body was found in a drain inside a society in Byculla on Tuesday.The police arrested three persons for allegedly murdering the victim, Keshav Chaudhary Jha, 35, over a land dispute in Bihar.As per the police, around 1 pm on Tuesday, the police control room received a call that the body of a person had been found in a drain at the Suryakund Mahapurush society at Mazgaon in Byculla. The person appeared to have been hit on the head with a blunt object.The police team sent the body for post mortem, which confirmed the person had been murdered. Accordingly, the Byculla police registered a murder case against unidentified persons. Initial investigation revealed that the society watchman, Girdhari Rai, 22, who was absconding, was involved in the murder.The police said they found that Rai, along with others, had allegedly murdered the deceased in the watchman’s cabin and threw his body in the drain.Various squads were set up to track the accused. They first arrested one Mrityunjay Jha, 36, who was trying to flee to Bihar, on Wednesday in Sewri.An officer said that during his interrogation, Mrityunjay Jha told them that he, along with Girdhari Rai, the watchman, and another person, had murdered the deceased owing to a dispute over a property in Bihar.Story continues below this adBased on his interrogation, the police managed to arrest the main accused, Girdhari Rai, and another aide from a train in Bhusawal as they were trying to escape to Bihar.“The duo was arrested last (Wednesday) night.
