The 50-over tournament, which has seen the likes of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and other Indian international cricketers too competing in the past, will be played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA International Stadium, Mullanpur; IS Bindra PCA International Stadium, Mohali; Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh; Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Panchkula; and Mahajan Cricket Academy, Chandigarh, with the final of the tournament being played at IS Bindra PCA International Stadium, Mohali.“The 50-over 30th edition of JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament will be organised under the aegis of Punjab Cricket Association and it will provide preparations for the cricketers for the upcoming domestic season. The 50-over matches will be played with SG Test Red (LE) cricket balls and white clothing in a league-cum-knockout stage format. PCA panel of scorers and umpires will be officiating in the tournament. PCA Colts, last year winners alongside, HPCA, JKCA, UTCA, Indian Railways and other teams are likely to participate in the tournament,” said Capt (Retd) Sushil Kapoor, organising secretary of the tournament.The 12 teams will be divided into four pools and the tournament will be played in a league-cum-knockout stage. The top two teams of each group will advance to the quarter-final stage of the tournament. The winning team will get a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a trophy while the runners-up team will get a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and the runners-up trophy. Apart from that, there will be man of the match awards for every match apart from best bowler, best batsman and man of the tournament awards. “Like in the past, we expect most of the top domestic players playing in the tournament.
