In a clip posted by Fanatics Collect, TNT Sports‘ Adam Lefkoe, along with sports cards wholesaler ‘pullwax’ can be seen gifting O’Neal his daughter’s McDonald’s All-American autographed card – the first she ever signed with Topps. “Ah, my baby’s card. That’s dope,” he could be heard saying when the card was presented to him. “Was this her first one?… Yep, that’s the autograph I taught her.”Me’Arah was selected to the 2024 McDonald’s All-American roster back in January last year, alongside Florida Gators teammate, Liv McGill. In doing so, they became just the third and fourth Gators to receive those honors, joining Laila Reynolds (2023) and Ronni Williams (2013). Upon the pair’s selection, Gators head coach Kelly Rae Finley said: “It is a prestigious honor for Liv and Me’Arah to be selected for the 2024 McDonald’s All-American game. “They have both earned the opportunity to compete amongst the best players in the country and it’s exciting that they get to do it together.” A 6-foot-4 guard/forward, O’Neal was considered the third-best prospect in the state of Texas for the 2024 recruiting class. In her freshman year with the Gators, the 19-year-old averaged 4.8 points from 42.5 percent shooting from the field and 3.9 rebounds in just 13.6 minutes of action per contest. Me’Arah isn’t the only member of the O’Neal family to have gone on to play college basketball, with older brother Shareef having suited up for UCLA and LSU – Shaq’s alma mater – during his career, though he would wind up going undrafted in the NBA. There’s also Shaqir, who last season transferred from Texas Southern to Florida A&M, where in 18.1 minutes per contest in 29 outings, he tallied 6.9 points shooting at a 50.3 percent clip and 3.4 rebounds. Since he called time on a stellar 19-year career in The Association, where he was named an All-Star on 15 occasions, O’Neal has become a beloved analyst on Inside the NBA with Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson and Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith. Following the loss of TNT Sports’ media rights deal, the crew has been moved over to ESPN and ABC from the 2025-26 regular season.Although there was some speculation at first whether the show would continue, or whether its co-hosts even wanted to continue to be involved, O’Neal was positive that the show would remain the same, regardless of any name or network changes. I love you guys and I appreciate you guys.”Stay up to date with the latest from the NBA across all platforms – follow our dedicated talkSPORT USA Facebook page and subscribe to our talkSPORT USA YouTube channel for news, exclusive interviews and more.
