Why I would wait for the Galaxy S25 FE and ignore other S25 models

Wait 5 sec.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 lineup back in January, and the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge are all excellent purchases many months later. But if you’re in the market for a new phone right now, I would hold off for the Galaxy S25 FE coming later this year. Why? Because it will one-up its pricier siblings in software support. The Galaxy S25 FE will ship with Android 16 and One UI 8 out of the box, while the regular S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge all launched with Android 15/One UI 7. These models will get One UI 8 in September, but with Samsung's seven-year update promise extending to all models, the FE will end up one version ahead at the end of its support cycle. An older chip, but newer softwareOf course, there’s a trade-off. The S25 FE won’t get the latest Snapdragon or the Exynos 2500 chip. Instead, it will use last year’s Exynos 2400. For those looking for the best performance, the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge with the Snapdragon 8 Elite are the obvious picks. But the Exynos 2400 is still a powerful and efficient flagship processor that's more than enough for everyday use and even demanding apps and games. And then there’s the price. The FE will cost less than the rest of the Galaxy S25 family, which further sweetens the deal. If performance is your top priority, the existing S25 models are the better options. But if what matters most to you is having the latest software out of the box and an additional year of updates, the Galaxy S25 FE is worth the wait. The Galaxy S25 FE will go official on September 4 at a virtual Galaxy Unpacked event. It will likely go on sale before the end of the month. In addition to shipping with Android and One UI versions two generations newer compared to the S24 FE, the S25 FE is expected to bring a battery capacity upgrade from 4,700 mAh to 4,900 mAh, support for 45W super fast charging, and a higher-resolution selfie camera (12MP instead of 10MP).The post Why I would wait for the Galaxy S25 FE and ignore other S25 models appeared first on SamMobile.
