A woman on TikTok captured what she believed to be a terrifying chase down the corridors of what look to be a hotel or apartment building, however, when a security worker examined the footage there appeared to be nobody behind the woman. For the full context we have two POVs, both posted by two different accounts on TikTok. The first, comes from a woman by the name of Aria. In the clip we can see that she is subtly recording as she walks, the caption explains that she was “recording for my own safety.” Then we see her evidently in distress as she runs down the corridor crying for help, the caption gives more context, telling the viewers that there is apparently a guy stalking her who started running towards her. @alyza1818 Please be aware of your surroundings. I thought if i pretended to be on ft they would leave me alone but then i heard running and i ran. sorry for scaring you all #godlovesyou #facetimr #beawareofyoursurroundings #youwereputonthisearthforareason #fyp ♬ original sound – °❀.ೃ࿔* Aria A °❀.ೃ࿔* The only other clip posted to the account seemingly comes from the same incident and shows the woman running down a different part of the corridor. TikTok are concerned Many who viewed the video expressed concern for the girl as the video ends somewhat abruptly and there are no more posts to confirm that the woman is okay. Many suggested that the woman may have been playing the elevator game, an old urban legend that states if people press the buttons on an elevator in a certain sequence it will take you to a parallel dimension. So was it a ghost? or was this woman being stalked by an unseen assailant? Judging by the fact that she was able to post the videos and write the captions we can assume that she managed to escape the situation or that, at the very least, she’s okay now. However, it would be nice to be able to confirm that is the case. There’s also little evidence suggesting she was playing the elevator game, and even if she was, it’s not real. Another POV The mystery only deepened when another POV was found on TikTok. This one was posted by the account “clippedtoes” and is a recording of the CCTV footage within the building. The person recording is possibly a security worker which would explain why they have access to the security footage. Anyways, the clip shows what appears to be the same corridor and the same woman from the original clip, (the checkered pattern pants match with what we saw in the original). The clip shows the woman running down the corridor, but there’s nobody chasing her. When she reaches the elevator she presses a button and hides her face in the corner, but nobody comes within sight of the camera. However, the elevator doors do not close, almost like there’s something stopping them. @4everfloe she was runnin like somebody really on her. and elevator dont even close til she leave. freaky #spooky#scared#elevators#beforeal#hideandseek ♬ original sound – clippedtoes The clip has spawned many theories. Viewers compared the footage to the Elisa Lam case from 2013. The old case seems eerily similar to what we’re seeing here, even down to the way both Lam and this woman seem to hide in the elevator while the doors refuse to shut. This could also be some sort of mental breakdown caught on camera so it’s important not to get too carried away with wild conspiracy theories. Whatever it may be, these clips are the only context we have, the “clippedtoes” account has posted a little more on the elevator and from his account we can deduce it’s a hotel he’s in, but that’s about it. Alternatively, this could be a joint effort between the two accounts to generate some viral buzz. Unless the original poster uploads again and confirms either way we can only hope that the woman got the help she needs and is doing better now.
