Anxiety as M7 Blocks ‘Traitor’ Fred Ssebale’s Song at Ruling Party’s Kololo Conference

By Mulengera ReportersPresident Museveni this Wednesday afternoon shut up veteran singer Fred Ssebale (vastly considered a traitor by opposition foot soldiers), who had stepped forward to perform a campaign song he recently composed for him.Ssebale, who used to sing at opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye’s campaign rallies and those of Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago until the 2016 campaign season, merely remixed one of the old hit songs he had initially done for the retired Colonel for purposes of 2016 campaigns. As soon as the MC signaled and Ssebale’s song started playing, Gen Museveni got the microphone and directed that the song doesn’t get played because it’s message is clearly a campaign message yet that period has officially not yet been proclaimed by the national Electoral Commission. In that song, Fred Ssebale enumerates Museveni’s achievement and the transformative journey, which record he sharply contrasts with that of the regime’s opponents including Kizza Besigye, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and others. In the same hit, Ssebale also scorns Gen Museveni’s opponents describing them as visionless.Speaking immediately after the Luganda campaign hit had been halted, Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM Electoral Commission Chairman, thanked the President for his guidance on the issue of the Ssebale song whose beats and rhythm remain exactly the same as was contained in the Besigye campaign anthem of 2016.It’s also possible that Gen Museveni, who must have painfully taken note of it as it played at Besigye’s rallies of 2016, still gets goose pimples whenever he hears its beats and rhythm. (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
