Institutional Rotation - MO on an absolute tearAltria Group, Inc.BATS:MODontListenToThisClownNothing like an army of jolly green giant candles backed by a 6-7% annual dividend. Over the last month, Altria Group (MO) has outperformed Tesla, NVDA, GOOG, and many of the other big tech stocks. With Powell making it clear he has no intentions of helping out the Trump camp in anyway shape or form, institutional investors are rotating / taking profits off big tech and shifting those funds into safer positions to perhaps hedge against a correction that may be coming (unemployment numbers have been increasing and Russia Russia Russia shows no end to their pounding Ukraine). Altria is considered defensive as it's cash flow is about as secure as can be in tobacco and an excellent yield to boot - institutional investors would be stupid not to stock up. In addition to MO - look for midstream energy providers like ET to get a boost from those seeking shelter. I'd hold MO through their next ex-div date which I believe is in 3-4 weeks - if not longer. IF MO falters, the alamo will be the utilities. If the fed plays nice, we could see a quick rotation back to growth and tech, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
