Jonathan Dingli, Labour’s deputy mayor in Mqabba, has faced strong backlash after posting a controversial remark on Facebook.The comment, written beneath a ONE News post and aimed at Nationalist Party leadership contender Adrian Delia, read: Delia “should have been born a woman, because you like being beaten too much.”The remark was swiftly condemned and later deleted.In response, the Nationalist Party stressed that language which trivialises the suffering of abuse survivors has no place in public debate. They argued that as a deputy mayor, Dingli carries the responsibility to show respect and lead by example, particularly on issues affecting women.
