Nearly 50 years and eight additional movies later, Star Wars remains one of the most popular film franchises in the world. The ride-simulator attraction took place after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983). Guests booked a trip via Star Tours travel agency and were being taken to the forest moon of Endor. Unfortunately, Captain R3X makes several mistakes, and guests find themselves in a battle between the First Order and the Rebel Alliance. The original Star Tours attraction closed at Disneyland in 2010 and underwent a transformation into Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. Disney also works hard to keep the attraction up to date, adding characters from the hit Disney+ shows The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka back in 2024. Back in July, Disney announced that the attraction would be closing for a months-long refurbishment. The calendar states that the attraction will be open for Early Entry, which begins at 7:30 a.m.Then, beginning Tuesday, September 9, the attraction will have Early Entry every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Disneyland is currently celebrating its 70th Anniversary, and several major attractions have been shut down since the celebration kicked off in May.
