The Govindaraj Nagar police have arrested four habitual offenders allegedly involved in as many as nine house break-in thefts in and around the city and recovered valuables worth ₹44.2 lakh from them.The accused, identified as Mohammed Fayaz, 59, Budesh Gowda, 52, Prasad, 49, and Fayaz Devi,39, had burgled a house in Mudalapalya on July 17 and escaped with a silver bracelet and passport.Based on a complaint, the police, with the help of technical details, tracked down the accused.The accused are habitual offenders involved in house break-in thefts in and around Bengaluru, Hassan, Bidar, Huballi, and Chitradurga, city police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said.In another incident, the Begur police arrested Shanth Kumar, 37, and recovered 20.9 lakh worth of valuables which he had allegedly burgled from a house.Published - August 26, 2025 06:28 pm IST
