The leaders also called for forensic verification of the video and a fair investigationThe District Congress Committee (DCC) Mohali, led by its district president Ranjit Singh Jeeti and senior party leader and former health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), demanding strict legal action against senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia for his controversial remarks. The Congress leaders alleged that during a recent party meeting, Sisodia declared “We will do whatever it takes to win the 2027 elections, be it face-to-face, punishment-diversity, truth-lies, question-answer, fight and quarrel. Are you ready?”Calling the statement “provocative and illegal,” Jeeti said it undermines the sanctity of democracy and poses a direct threat to law and order. A video of the remarks, now viral on social media, has been submitted to the authorities as evidence.Sidhu asserted that such words openly incite AAP workers towards violence and must be dealt with under strict legal provisions. The DCC has demanded that an FIR be registered against Sisodia under sections that deal with making statements causing public disorder, use of pressure and unfair means in elections, incitement to riot, and corrupt electoral practices. The leaders also called for forensic verification of the video and a fair investigation. “If such provocative statements are not curbed, they could disturb Punjab’s peace ahead of elections. An FIR must be registered immediately,” Sidhu said.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Manish SisodiaPunjab Congress
