It’s been a long and amazing journey.”Kvitova revealed her nerves impacted her performance ahead of what she knew would be her final match.She added: “Since I wake up this morning, I felt it. I felt it would be not good.“I couldn’t eat. I was really nervous. couldn’t move, I couldn’t swing, I couldn’t do anything. Meanwhile, she had tumbled to 543rd in the WTA rankings ahead of her loss to Parry.Her victorious opponent will now face either sixth seed Madison Keys or Mexico’s Renata Zarazua in the second round on Wednesday.
