The Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for its 2026–2027 research fellowship program. Up to 50 fellowships will be awarded to support projects that require substantial on-site use of the center’s internationally renowned collections in the humanities.Fellowships are open to graduate students, current and former academic faculty at any career stage, and independent researchers — including journalists and artists — whose work engages deeply with archival materials. Residency lengths range from one week to two months, with stipends provided to support travel and research.The center’s collections span literature, photography, film, art, and cultural history, offering rich opportunities for interdisciplinary exploration. The Lorne Michaels Collection, one of the latest additions to the Ransom Center archives, will be available for research starting January 2026. Research conducted by humanities scholars contributes to a dynamic body of knowledge that reshapes our understanding of what is preserved and valued in our communities.
