Walt Disney World Resort’s Halloween parade recently paused due to a malfunction with one of the character performer’s costumes. The Disney Park guest explained that everyone watching the parade initially thought Ursula, the villain from The Little Mermaid (1989), had stopped to dance. After a while, they realized the moving platform that the Disney character performer stands on had gotten stuck in the trolley tracks on Main Street, U.S.A. Eventually, technicians arrived, and Ursula used a hand signal to explain the problem as they rushed to fix it. “Cast Members are HIGHLY trained for anything and if this isn’t proof, I don’t know what is!” the Walt Disney World Resort guest concluded. The technician tried multiple times to get Ursula unstuck as she continued dancing and waving to guests. After “a few minutes,” the cast member stepped away, and Ursula floated down Main Street, U.S.A.
