It has proposed to hold this debate on Friday on campus, with the venue likely to be announced soon.The Teachers’ Voice United Front (TVUF) has released its manifesto for the upcoming Panjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) elections under the leadership of professors Ashok Kumar and Jayanti Dutta.The manifesto lays emphasis on key issues about dignity as well as the welfare of the teaching community without any compromise. The TVUF says its priority is to resolve the issues regarding the teachers’ retirement age and immediate disbursal of promotion benefits to dental faculty along with the payment of arrears as per the law of the land, to prevent unnecessary legal disputes. It also promises to fight for the payment of interest on the delayed payment of arrears.The manifesto advocates the Old Pension Scheme for all PU employees on the Punjab government pattern and PhD increments to the young faculty members.Presenting its achievements, it highlighted that it has awakened the administration to start repair work on campus houses after 10 years.  The TVUF manifesto also claims that it puts forward a clear vision for strengthening teachers’ rights and ensuring a fair, transparent, and inclusive university environment.In addition, TVUF has invited the other two contesting teams, led by Parveen Goel and Keshav Malhotra, to come forward for an open debate/open house on all issues.
