Apple's slow adoption of AI for mobile, and its stumbles with getting the AI-enhanced Siri ready, have been well documented. Even some of the company's most loyal fans are now calling it out for not fully capitalizing on this industry trend. Samsung saw where the wind was blowing early on and inked the necessary partnerships to ensure that it came out on top. It appears that Apple has finally seen the writing on the wall and is now more willing to take a more collaborative approach, more by circumstance than by choice. Apple Intelligence still leaves a lot to be desiredBloomberg reports that Apple is exploring the use of Gemini to power its AI-enhanced Siri. Apple and Google are said to be in early discussions for a partnership which would see Google train an iteration of Gemini that can run on Apple's servers.Apple is reportedly working on two versions of the new Siri, one that uses its own models and the other that relies on a third-party model, such as Google's Gemini. It hasn't made a final decision yet so it's possible that this Gemini partnership may not materialize.Samsung's close partnership with Google has brought many powerful AI features to its devices. Gemini ships by default on its devices and many of Google's other AI features power different capabilities in the Galaxy AI suite. On the other hand, Apple Intelligence isn't quite there yet, and the promised Siri upgrades have now been delayed to 2026. Google would be the ultimate winner here, with its AI models powering solutions on two of the world's leading device manufacturers, if it does end up clinching this deal with Apple. The post Looks like Apple is following Samsung’s lead on AI with potential Gemini deal appeared first on SamMobile.
