Deep in a forest in the Andes, high atop a tall tree, there's a quick, colorful flash of plumage in vivid shades of yellow, green, and blue. A high-pitched musical chirp rings out. Through a carefully trained pair of binoculars, a beautiful little bird comes into view. It's a multicolored tanager, a species that lives only in the mountains of Colombia.
