People caught in flood waters in Telangana districts were rescued by Telangana police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire Services personnel and other teams on Wednesday (August 27, 2025).In Kamareddy, around 500 people have been rescued or evacuated from the inundated areas. The SDRF team rescued 10 workers at Boggu Gudise and another five people at Gunkal Village. Around 100 people were safely shifted to a safe location.Around 14 people from Doopsingh Thanda were stranded on the roof of a house and unable to step out due to heavy flow of water from all sides. The NDRF and SDRF teams are trying to reach the place. A request for helicopter was raised.Around five people who were stranded at the Animal Birth Control centre at Medak municipal dump yard were rescued by the SDRF.All overflowing roads, culverts, causeways, bridges were closed and teams from Police, Revenue and Panchayat were deployed. Around four irrigation tanks and two canals have breached. All affected villages downstream have been alerted.SircillaIn Rajanna Sircilla District, due to the overflow from the Upper Manair dam at Narmala village in Gambhiraopet Mandal, five people were stranded on an island. It’s a relatively high place with overflow on both sides and efforts are on to evacuate these people.Twelve teams of SDRF and four teams of NDRF have rushed to Kamareddy and Medak Districts and are engaged in rescue operations .Senior officers were appointed for Kamareddy, Medak and Sircilla and they have rushed to the districts.Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy monitored the situation regularly and alerted all senior official and collectors concerned.
