15% Of PN Members Vote On First Day Of Early Leadership Election

The Nationalist Party’s leadership election kicked off today, with 15% of eligible members casting their vote on the very first day of early voting.Around 20,600 members are eligible to vote in this election, which is being contested by Alex Borg and Adrian Delia.Net News reported the PN’s Electoral, Records and Data Commission Chairperson, Mario Callus, confirmed  members were able to start voting yesterday between 4pm and 9pm at the Dar Ċentrali in Malta and between 4pm and 8pm at the PN Sub-Headquarters in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo.Early voting will continue on Saturday 30th August, with polling stations open between 9am and 7pm in Malta and 9am and 5pm in Gozo.The final vote will take place on Saturday 6th September, when members will once again be able to cast their ballot at Dar Ċentrali in Malta, PN clubs in Safi, Tarxien and Mġarr, or at the PN Sub-Headquarters in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo.This leadership race was officially launched after PN General Council President Mark Anthony Sammut declared open the General Convention of members, which will appoint the new PN leader as laid out in the party statute.•
