Northern Railways arranged a special train from Jammu to New Delhi for stranded tourists. This followed cancellation of several trains due to heavy rains. Many passengers were stuck at Jammu station, including Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims. Railways provided food and lodging with help from NGOs. Rail traffic was disrupted by floods and soil erosion. Authorities are working to restore services.
