Arab Israeli terrorist cell operating in northern Israel planned to gun down IDF soldiers in the city of Karmiel, authorities say.By World Israel News StaffIsraeli authorities foiled a terrorist plot targeting the northern city of Karmiel, the police department and Shin Bet security agency announced Monday morning in a joint statement.According to the Northern District Police and Shin Bet, a terrorist cell made up of four Arab Israeli men had planned to carry out a shooting attack against IDF soldiers in Karmiel.Authorities say the terror cell received guidance on how to plan and carry out the shooting attack.Some of the terrorists involved in the cell trained for the planned attack.After discovering the plot, the Israel Police’s Galil Unit for Serious and International Crime and the Shin Bet launched an investigation into the planned attack, culminating in the arrest of four suspects.The police department and Shin Bet identified two of the teenage suspects as Ahmad Sarhan, 19, and Muhammad Khalil, 18, while the names of two underage suspects remain censored.All four of the suspects are residents of northern Israel.The Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office is expected to file criminal charges against the four suspects on Monday, indicting them on terror-related offenses.“The Shin Bet and Israel Police view with great severity any involvement by Israeli citizens in activity that could endanger the security of the state and its citizens, and will continue to act decisively to locate and thwart such activity,” the police department and Shin Bet said in a joint statement.“The investigation of the incident uncovered serious activity involving residents of the Galilee, citizens of the State of Israel, who conspired with the aim of carrying out severe security-related activity against the security forces.”The post Arab Israeli gang planned to gun down IDF soldiers in northern Israel appeared first on World Israel News.
