Thousands of property owners in Delhi are facing uncertainty after the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) halted leasehold-to-freehold conversions for the past three months. The pause comes as the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs reviews the policy to simplify procedures and rationalise rates. While new applications have been put on hold, earlier applications with fees already paid continue to be processed. The suspension of weekly hearings and assistance camps has further added to the frustration among applicants.
