If her child is sick enough to be hospitalized then the kiddo is likely not well enough for the mental effort it takes to play chess. Hospitalized kids are wan, listless, and maybe able to watch videos or listen to stories. If the child is well enough to play chess I’m sure their insurance company would like kiddo to be discharged.
