Special Bus Services Rolled Out For San Girgor Feast And Festa Frawli

Malta Public Transport has announced a series of special services to help passengers attend two of the island’s biggest upcoming traditional events, the San Girgor Feast in Marsaxlokk and Festa Frawli in Mġarr, with increased connectivity expected to ease travel pressure.For the San Girgor Feast taking place on Wednesday 8th April, additional buses will operate between Valletta and Marsaxlokk throughout the day. Routes 85 and TD10 will run at regular intervals, offering more capacity for those travelling to and from the seaside village.Morning trips towards Marsaxlokk will run between 9.20am and 11.40am every 20 minutes, followed by afternoon services from 12.35pm to 3.35pm. Return journeys to Valletta will begin at 10.05am until 12.25pm, and then continue between 1.20pm and 4.20pm.Meanwhile, for Festa Frawli in Mġarr on Sunday 12th April, a dedicated shuttle service will connect Ta’ Qali, Rabat Terminus, Infetti Road and Mġarr, operating every 30 minutes. Trips towards Mġarr will run from 10am to 3pm, while return services back to Ta’ Qali will operate between 11.00am and 6pm.Additional connections will also be available through extended services on Route X44 between Valletta and Mġarr, alongside the regular Route 44, with frequent trips scheduled throughout the day and into the evening.Tallinja card holders will be able to travel free of charge on both regular and special services, while passengers without a personalised card can purchase tickets on board for €2 on standard routes or €3 on special services, with both cash and contactless payments accepted.Authorities are encouraging passengers to make use of the Tallinja mobile app or website for real-time updates and journey planning.With large crowds expected for both events, the additional services are set to provide a practical alternative to driving, helping visitors travel more easily while keeping traffic congestion in check.Share with someone who’s planning on going!•
