UPDATE:I'm not sure exactly what I did, but things suddenly started working. I installed drivers by right-clicking android_winusb.inf and choosing Install (I had done that before) and updated the driver of the phone to second MTP device on the list. After that, the Android Composite ADB Interface driver started working, but stopped after reboots of the PC and phone.
