An enhanced version of the Get Qualified scheme has been launched, aligned with the values of Vision 2050.Through the Get Qualified scheme, workers can get up to 70% reimbursement in tax credits on study expenses. Economy Minister Silvio Schembri explained that this scheme, which is administered by Malta Enterprise, the Government will continue investing in human capital and providing support to young people and employees through lifelong learning.The new scheme will continue to give support through tax credits on eligible expenses, it will give an additional fiscal bonus for qualifications in STEM and support extended to individuals completing doctoral-level studies.Besides, the Get Qualified 2026 will extend the utilisation period of the tax credit to 15 years, increase the eligibility for up to four courses over a five-year period, introduced a fairer system based on ECTS or learning hours and reduced bureaucracy through direct agreements.These measures are designed to make the scheme more accessible, efficient, and aligned with the realities of modern education, explained Schembri.The main objectives of this enhanced scheme is to have a stronger alignment with national economic priorities, promoting industry-relevant studies, increasing focus on STEM subjects and integrating the Higher Qualification Scheme.Have you ever benefited from this scheme?•
