Walt Disney World Resort has filed a construction permit for a new show starring Mickey Mouse at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The news comes as Disney continues transforming the former Animation Courtyard and Star Wars Launch Bay into the Walt Disney Studios Lot and the Magic of Disney Animation, a reimagined version of an original attraction at the park once named Disney-MGM Studios.Animation Courtyard OverhaulCredit: DisneyIn 2025, Walt Disney World Resort announced that it would replace the Animation Courtyard area with the Walt Disney Studios Lot, inspired by the actual animation headquarters in Burbank, California. Star Wars Launch Bay is transforming into the Magic of Disney Animation, an experience featuring drawing classes with an audio-animatronic Olaf, themed character meet-and-greets, and the return of the oversized blue Sorcerer Mickey hat to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure will survive the transformation and continue to perform at Disney’s Hollywood Studios throughout the construction. However, Disney Junior Play and Dance! closed alongside Animation Courtyard last September. The permit lists Icarus Exhibits as the third-party contractor; they were also contracted to install set elements in the Magic of Disney Animation.Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! is inspired by Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which aired on the Disney Channel from 2006 to 2016, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, a revival series that premiered last year. The show is currently performing at Disney California Adventure Park.The interactive, preschooler-focused experience features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, and friends on stage, with a massive digital screen.
