Straightforard prompt. Who do you guys have in your Allblacks 23 if we had to play France this weekend? There are a few more injuries in the forwards, but Marshy probably didn't check up on that. He also didn't really commit to a call on who would captain. I got abit excited and came up with my own: Ethan De Groot Codie Taylor (c) Fletcher Newell Josh Lord Sam Darry Ethan Blackadder Peter Lakai Devan Flanders Cam Roigard Beauden Barrett (vc) Caleb Clarke Jordie Barrett (vc) Quinn Tupaea Caleb Tangitau Will Jordan Samisoni Taukei’aho Ofa Tu’ungafasi Pasilio Tosi Josh Beehre Du’Plessis Kirifi Noah Hotham Ruben Love Leicester Fainga’anuku What are everyone's thoughts on where we are at? I feel we are currently in a good spot in the midfield and backline overall. We have 2 to 3 good options at every position and a good blend between guys who are specialists and utility backs. Backrow is stacked with talent, too. Flanders and Lakai are on fire. So they get penciled in, and I'd go with Blackadder for the veteran presence. I also think he would complement them well. Injuries to Vaa'i, Tuipulotu, and Holland, along with Scooter's sabbatical, put our second row depth to another test. Which I believe we would pass. Hopefully, no more injuries though, otherwise we may have to resort to playing backrowers there, lol. Tavatavanawai just misses out for me, but I'm sure others have him in their 23. Fineanganofo and Daddy Dalton would also be shoo-ins, but miss out on eligibility. That's a topic for another day ;) submitted by /u/AnotherUser87497453 [link] [comments]
