Israeli officials say Trump is engaging with Iran’s Parliamentary speaker as well as regional mediators. By Vered Weiss, World Israel News Israel has informed the United States that it will accept any decision by President Donald Trump regarding the next phase of the war with Iran, a senior Israeli political official said Monday, signaling alignment with Washington as discussions continue. The official told Ynet that Jerusalem has conveyed it will support whatever course of action Trump chooses, marking a shift from last June’s operation, when Israel objected to ending the fighting, and Trump ordered Israeli Air Force jets to turn back.“This is not that event,” the senior official said. “The moment he makes the decision, we go with the decision. In the meantime, we are trying to exhaust the target bank.”According to the official, Israeli leadership is seeking to extend military operations in the near term while deferring to US decision-making on whether to continue or halt the conflict. The official said Trump is currently pursuing what was described as negotiations under fire but could change course quickly if mediators signal that an agreement with Iran is achievable.Israeli officials said Trump is engaging with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf both directly and through mediation channels, including Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar and Egypt. The official said Israel aims to maximize operational gains during the current phase of fighting.“We want to stretch this out as much as possible so we can destroy as many targets as possible and push Iran farther away from nuclear capability and the production of weapons and ballistic missiles,” the official said.At the same time, Israeli officials said the situation reflects practical limits. “If there is no regime change, you eventually exhaust your move. For us, it is a cost-benefit calculation. The Iranians can keep this up for another year or two. It can be estimated that we are nearing the end.”The post Israel says it will accept any Trump decision on next phase of Iran war appeared first on World Israel News.
