STNG (USA) - Scorpio Tankers Riding The Volatility WaveScorpio Tankers Inc.NYSE:STNGzAngusScorpio Tankers Inc has been a standout performer over the last year with a gain of over 130% from its lows. They operate a massive fleet of tankers that carry refined fuels like gasoline and jet fuel across the ocean. With energy markets being turned upside down lately, these guys are in demand. Fundamentally, the company is in a great spot. They recently reported moving into a net cash position and even raised their dividend to $0.45 per share. The current war in the Middle East has effectively shut down the Strait of Hormuz to most traffic. While that creates global chaos, it actually increases demand for tankers because ships are forced to take much longer routes to deliver fuel. Longer trips mean fewer available ships, which has pushed their daily rates much higher. Technically, the current chart is starting to look constructive again. The recent 20% pullback put them into a better value area and the price has just nudged back above the 20-day SMA. The RSI has reset from overbought levels and is now sitting at a healthy 55 and looks like it is heading up. I found this one looking for stocks with a pull back where the MACD is about to cross up through the signal line which combined with the RSI heading up is a good sign of buyers returning and momentum building.
