This a person in their late 70s or 80s who is vastly underestimating what they're asking for and similarly vastly overestimating the value of rent/travel. My Dad, 80, went looking for something similar -- he wanted someone who would live in his house, rent free, and be around for 20 hours per day to give him a hand if needed it while also occasionally doing errands. In his head he was looking for "an hour a day on average" so his mental calculation was 30 hours per month and you get rent worth $1000-1500 so it's like $35-50/hr. I said what about the other 19 hours you're asking them to be around for the 1 hour you may need? Would free rent be worth it to you if you could only go out 4 hours per day and had to listen for somebody calling your name to help them get out of a chair? After I made my point he "got it" and recognized how unrealistic his ask was. The scary part? He had two people interested... 100% chance they were either going scam/rob him or were druggy/desperate.
