So is it any surprise that the average battery capacity of a smartphone has apparently exploded this year?Counterpoint Research reported that the average battery capacity of a smartphone reached 5,291mAh in January 2026. That’s a 400mAh year-on-year increase and reportedly makes it the biggest yearly increase since December 2021. This also means that the average phone’s battery capacity in 2026 is now larger than the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery.
