Tottenham Hotspur’s injury concerns in midfield have forced the club to explore options, and the Besiktas captain has caught the eye.Tottenham Hotspur have had to play the majority of the 25/26 season without two of their most creative midfielders, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison. At the time of writing, the pair remain sidelined with injury, with Kulusevski’s return date unknown due to a Pattela issue he picked up in May 2025.For Maddison, there is still hope of him getting a run in the squad this season, according to Igor Tudor, following his ACL injury during pre-season.Photo by Seskim Photo/MB Media/Getty ImagesTottenham transfers: Orkun Kokcu scouted amid £43m interestA report from Fanatik now claims that Tottenham have sent scouts to watch Besiktas captain Orkun Kokcu, who has hit form this season despite a slow start.According to the report, Spurs have been scouting the midfielder closely, including during Besiktas’ recent clash with Kasimpasa, where he reportedly earned ‘high marks’.Kokcu has returned decent numbers this season, scoring six goals and assisting eight in 23 Super Lig appearances. The midfielder is a ball carrier similar to Kulusevski and is press-resistant. He also has leadership traits, which could suit Tottenham, given how young their squad is.Spurs face competition for Kokcu as valuation emergesBut Spurs are not the only ones to have scouted Kokcu. Manchester United have also sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old on several occasions this season. The Red Devils are set to rival Tottenham as they continue to monitor the midfielder’s situation, while elsewhere in Europe, Inter Milan is also credited with interest.Besiktas, for their part, have made their stance clear, stating there will be no sale unless the offer is ‘astronomical’, with £43 million (€50 million) the minimum price they will consider for the 25-year-old.Whether the Turkiye man is a Kulusevski replacement remains to be seen, but the profile of both players is definitely similar.READ MORE: Tottenham and Chelsea circle Said El Mala as Koln reveal summer price tagThe post Tottenham send scouts to watch £43m Besiktas captain and he earns 'high marks' appeared first on Spurs Web.
