That is interesting. I wonder if it changed recently or if there's a different standard of care in different areas. My mom's pacemaker had a 20 year battery in 2000. The idea back in the day was a long life battery would outlive the patient. (Hers did.) The first time I heard of that not happening was in 2007 when the mom of a friend went 20 years and had the battery replaced. Probably this woman has a bad battery and lacks the comprehension to understand/repeat what's actually going on. She may have had an entire new pacemaker implanted without really listening to what the doctors were saying or reading the paperwork they gave her. Her posts don't exactly scream "fully literate". Or even "I pay attention".
