Uganda International Fashion Week (UIFW) is set to return this June after a six-year hiatus, reigniting one of the country’s most influential fashion platforms with a renewed focus on opportunity and impact. The 2026 edition will take place from June 22nd to 27th at the Kampala Serena Hotel, bringing together designers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders in a week-long celebration of fashion as both culture and business. This year’s return signals more than just runway showcases. Organisers have introduced a three-year Creative Economy Program (2026–2028), targeting over 9,800 youths aged between 15 and 35, most of them women and girls. The initiative will provide practical skills training, mentorship, enterprise development support, and access to both regional and international markets. Founded in 2003, UIFW has played a key role in shaping Uganda’s fashion industry by spotlighting local designers and connecting them to global opportunities. The new direction expands its impact beyond exhibitions, positioning the platform as a driver of sustainable careers and business growth within the creative sector.
