The Galaxy S26 brings many new Galaxy AI features. One of them is Call Screening. It can answer calls, ask who the caller is, why they are calling, and show the transcription of the conversation in real time. At any point during the call screening, you can take over the call by answering it and talking to the caller yourself, or you can type your response, and the phone will relay that to the caller. People were expecting Samsung to offer this feature to older devices with One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2). Unfortunately, that may not happen.On Samsung Community, an individual requested that the brand extend Call Screening to the Galaxy S25. Going by the thread, we assume that they were asking the company to offer it with the One UI 8.5 update. Replying to it, one of the forum moderators said that the feature is “unfortunately” available starting with the Galaxy S26 series (via Tarun Vats). It suggests that the tech giant may not extend Call Screening to the Galaxy S25.The Samsung official added that the One UI 8.5 update will, however, bring other new features to older devices. It further suggests the brand may not offer Call Screening to the Galaxy S25 with the One UI 8.5 update.If Samsung isn’t planning to offer Call Screening to Galaxy S25, it may not offer it to any other older devices, as the Galaxy S25 is the most powerful device and the most capable candidate to get the feature, at least in the brand’s non-foldable lineup of phones. Things could be different with the Galaxy Z TriFold and the Galaxy Z TriFold.
