As a native Brazilian, Jayma Cardoso loves the beach—but she’s grown equally accustomed to the mountains. For the past eight winters, the nightlife impresario has run The Snow Lodge in Aspen, an alpine branch of Montauk’s perpetually popular Surf Lodge, located inside the St. Regis Aspen Resort. Navigating a busy après scene and late nights means making the most of her days, which can start with breakfast at Poppycock’s (“great eggs and an easy, nostalgic vibe,” she says) followed by lunch at White House Tavern, Big Wrap, or Hickory House for “Texas energy in the Rockies.” Afternoons and evenings, of course, are mostly spent at The Snow Lodge and the Jade Room—an Elphaba-coded emerald-green space where performers sing as Caviar Kaspia is served to A-list clientele, including Mikey Madison, Prince Harry, Colman Domingo, and Mariah Carey. Other spots she says are worth checking out are Kenichi, Bosq, Casa Tua, and Pine Creek Cookhouse. Here, Cardoso shares her must-visits in the ski town she calls home (at least from December to March).TRAVELCourtesy + Design Leah Romeroo Ski — My ritual is tea at the Gorsuch Ski Café at the base before heading up the mountain. I always joke that I can tell how busy we’ll be at The Snow Lodge just by watching the skiers coming down. I love that you can ski straight into town—it keeps Aspen social and connected.o Gondola — Snowmass feels expansive and full of possibility. My friend and partner Stephane De Baets recently acquired the Viewline Resort, right on the mountain and at the center of everything happening in Snowmass, with a relaxed European alpine sensibility. Together, we’re building something special: an alpine cultural hub where food, music, design, and community come together.o Walk — Aspen is magical early in the day. Grab a coffee at Paradise Bakery or Sant Ambroeus and walk through town while the snow falls. It’s the calm before the après.STAYCourtesy + Design Leah Romeroo The St. Regis Aspen Resort — Refined but warm, and perfectly central. It’s also home to The Snow Lodge, which makes it especially meaningful for me.o Hotel Jerome — One of Aspen’s most iconic hotels, with the perfect mix of history, character, and a lively social scene.o Hotel Durant — A charming, more budget-friendly option that still captures Aspen’s cozy side.EATCourtesy + Design Leah Romeroo Bonnie’s — Most people come for lunch, but I love it for breakfast. The oatmeal pancakes are legendary, especially after a few early runs.o Clark’s Oyster Bar — My first stop with performers and DJs when they arrive. Oysters, seafood, and the burger instantly reset the mood after travel. By the second round, Aspen has officially begun.o Caviar Kaspia at The Jade Room — A long-time dream collaboration. Early in the week, it’s elegant dining; later, it transforms into an intimate concert setting with caviar, champagne, and incredible music.SHOPCourtesy + Design Leah Romeroo The Clubhouse Snowmass — Our new concept space at Viewline, featuring brands like Casablanca, Perfect Moment, Jacquemus, and White Space, along with custom ski apparel and a Common Room Roasters coffee bar.o Chanel, Moncler, and Revolve & FWRD — Chanel often brings seasonal pop-ups to Aspen that are always beautifully done. On the same street, the new Moncler space is incredible and worth visiting for the design alone. Revolve & FWRD is a chic boutique with a great edit of contemporary fashion.o Consignment Shops — One of Aspen’s best-kept secrets. Scattered around town are fantastic consignment stores where you can find barely worn designer ski wear and great vintage pieces.EXPERIENCECourtesy + Design Leah Romeroo The Snow Lodge — I love how an Aspen night unfolds. From après at The Snow Lodge to late-night moments in the Jade Room. The energy shifts throughout the evening, and when the music hits just right, the whole room comes alive.o Bunny’s Social Club — In Snowmass, we’ve been creating experiences that flow naturally from day into night. Bunny’s Social Club has become a favorite for lunch and après right on the mountainside, while Après-Ski Club transforms the rooftop into an open-air stage at sunset.o The Flower Shop — Our partnership with the team behind The Flower Shop from New York has also brought a completely fresh nightlife energy to the mountain.
