Lejl Imkebbes will take place as planned this evening at the Cittadella, following coordinated efforts by organisers and the Ministry for Gozo and Planning to address recent weather-related concerns.From 6pm onwards, the Citadel will be illuminated by thousands of candles arranged in detailed designs, transforming the historic site into a distinctive cultural setting. This year’s edition will also include approximately 500 square metres of artefacts, alongside a range of light-based installations.A key addition to this year’s programme is an immersive projection mapping experience commemorating the 475th anniversary of the Invasion of Gozo (1551).Taking place in Cathedral Square, the projection will combine visual effects, sound, and narrative to recount the events that shaped Gozo’s history. The presentation will run every 15 minutes throughout the evening.The programme also includes historical and traditional re-enactments, open heritage sites, free museum access, contemporary music, and activities for children.The Gozo Cathedral will host a concert every hour by KorMalta, while food stands offering Maltese and international cuisine will be set up in the Citadel ditch.Admission to the event is free.
