Toddlers are top heavy and can drown in other things besides a pool. Children can drown in pools, rivers, ponds, lakes, or oceans, but toddler age children can also drown in a few inches of water in bathtubs, toilets and large buckets. CPR is also valuable if a young child chokes. Toddlers chewing and swallowing skills are still developing so they can choke on things like grapes, cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks, string cheese, hot dogs, etc.
