The guy has been absolutely elite for years now and it's crazy how he's done it without some of the usual accolades you'd expect. No World Cup triumph, no Ballon d'Or win, and Belgium hasn't exactly been loaded with generational talent around him. Yet here we are debating whether he's among the best we've seen in recent memory. What gets me is how he dictates the tempo of matches without all the showboating. His passing range is insane and he's been doing it at the highest level consistently for nearly a decade. Plus you can see how much better his teammates play when he's on the pitch - that's the mark of a truly special player. I think he's earned his spot in any discussion about the top midfielders of the last 15 years or so. The individual hardware might be missing but his impact on games speaks for itself. submitted by /u/DueStrength5289 [link] [comments]
