Barcelona opened the Nou Camp up to 23,000 fans on Friday as they moved a step closer to moving back into their iconic stadium. The Spanish giants have not played a match there since 2023, moving to the nearby Olympic Stadium so a £1.3billion refurbishment could take place. The Nou Camp will eventually host 105,000 peopleAFPAn opening training session was held to give supporters a sneak peak as the wait goes on to move back into their updated home. The project has been beset by delays, with the original move in date of 2024 missed by a considerable margin. Friday’s training session served as a test event with the hope of hosting LaLiga fixtures in the Nou Camp later in November. When could Barcelona play at the Nou Camp?Barca currently only have a licence to hold 25,991 people, which was granted in October, but have said they will wait until they welcome more fans before officially returning. There are also presidential elections before then, but in the case I am still president, I would love that.”
