By: Express News ServiceNew Delhi | November 7, 2025 04:23 AM IST 3 min readWhile voting for the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls was underway on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his rallies in Forbesganj and Bhagalpur, accused the Mahagathbandhan of dividing society in the state.“The Congress and RJD have committed the sin of dividing the society of Bihar. The RJD pushed Bihar into communal riots, the Congress triggered religious riots… the Congress will never be able to wash off the blot of the Bhagalpur riots. Just like the blot of the anti-Sikh riots can never be washed off the Congress, similarly, the blot of the Bhagalpur riots cannot be removed,” said the Prime Minister.“These riots are the biggest symbol of the Congress’s misgovernance… those practicing politics of destruction, do not like the development of Bihar. Who knows better than you that because of the bad policies of these parties the average youth of Bihar had to confront the curse of migration. But the NDA is committed that the youth of Bihar will work in Bihar, will bring name to it,” he added. In addition to renewing the BJP’s pitch against ghuspaithiya (infiltrators), the PM also thanked voters, particularly women and the youth, for turning out in large numbers to cast their ballot, expressing confidence that this meant that Bihar was in favour of sushasan (good governance) in the form of an NDA government.Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah raked up the issue of the Ram Temple attacking the Congress-RJD alliance as well as the larger opposition whose leaders he accused of not wanting the temple to come up in Ayodhya.“Since Babar destroyed Lord Ram’s temple 550 years ago, first the Mughals stalled it, then the British, then the Congress and then Lalu Prasad Yadav… in 2019, you elected Modi ji Prime Minister again; he did the bhoomipujan in 2019 and then in 2024, he got ‘Jai Shri Ram’ done with pran pratishtha,” Shah said.“Lalu, Rahul, SP, BSP, Mamata – all of them were against the construction of the Ram Temple. But today, Ram Lalla’s glorious temple is towering in Ayodhya skyline… Ram Lalla’s glorious temple got built; should Sita Maiyya’s temple too get constructed or not?… Do not worry – neither Lalu nor Rahul will be able to stop it. Nitish Babu and I have performed the bhoomipujan of Sita Maiyya’s temple; within 2.5 years, a glorious Sita temple will be constructed in Sitamarhi at a cost of `850 crore,” he added.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
