After months of viral speculation, authorities in Tazewell County, Illinois, announced the arrest of Robyn Polston, a now 44-year-old mother accused of giving birth to a child fathered by a minor. Investigators allege the boy was between 13 and 17 years old when the child was conceived. Polston also faces charges of conspiring with the teen to conceal the situation. Police in Washington, Illinois — a city within Tazewell County — say Polston sexually abused her daughter’s junior-high school date, a boy believed to have been about 14 when the relationship began. According to a probable-cause affidavit, the teen attended a May 2023 school dance with Polston’s daughter, where Polston was serving as a chaperone. According to Illinois news outlet 25 News Now, the investigation intensified after Polston gave birth in January 2025. Detectives noticed the newborn shared the same middle and last name as the teen. Prosecutors say Polston fabricated the claim that “a man in his twenties named Brian” fathered the baby, a story she allegedly told others. DNA testing later confirmed the minor was the child’s biological father. Signs of a cover-up TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. Authorities have withheld the teen’s identity due to his age. According to the affidavit, the victim moved away for a time but returned to Washington in April 2024, roughly 40 weeks before the child’s birth. Local authorities allege that Polston’s mother and sister may have known about the abuse and helped conceal it. Prosecutors told the court they do not trust Polston’s family to separate her from the victim if the court releases her. Polston now faces two counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim aged 13-17 and two counts of possession of child pornography. If convicted, she could face up to 60 years in prison. She remains held without bail and has not yet entered a plea. Her next hearing is scheduled for December 4, 2025. Viral attention on TikTok @abbylynn0715 BREAKING NEWS!!! One of the creators who helped bring it to wider attention, Abby Blabby, has posted multiple videos summarizing the allegations and community rumors. In a recent update following Polston’s arrest, Abby told her followers: “Huge breaking news — Robyn Polston was finally arrested. She’s a mother of two teenagers from Washington, Illinois, who allegedly got pregnant by her daughter’s ex-boyfriend. He was just 14.” According to Abby’s reporting, the teen eventually moved into Polston’s home, where she lived with her two teenagers and her mother. She allegedly convinced his grandparents to let him stay by saying he was friends with her son. Photos circulating online appear to show Polston and the teen together at a gender-reveal party and the hospital after the birth. Abby said Polston, a local hairstylist, told clients that her supposed partner was a military man stationed overseas, explaining why no one had met him. Later, she allegedly told others the boy living with her was that man’s younger brother. “She even told a photographer he was 25 — he just had a baby face,” Abby said. Abby added that suspicions among locals grew when “people started noticing things didn’t add up.” Family members of Polston reportedly began calling her out publicly, which helped push the case into the spotlight. Abby said the DNA test confirming paternity took months to process, delaying the arrest until November 3, 2025.
