Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued a stern warning to college managements for trying to create unrest over the fee reimbursement dues, cautioning that strict action would be taken if students’ education was disrupted in any manner.Referring to the bandh call given by the college managements over pending reimbursement amounts, the Chief Minister said the government would not tolerate any attempt to blackmail it in the name of students’ welfare.“Education is not a business but a service,” Mr. Revanth Reddy asserted, adding that the government was committed to releasing the dues in a phased manner. He said that while there was a delay in the disbursement of funds, it was not a new problem and had persisted for several years due to systemic issues inherited from the previous regime. He said colleges were collecting huge donations illegally, and the government wouldn’t spare them. Such colleges are trying to play the victim card, and he would take action if they continue with donations. He said some associations were working hand-in-glove with political parties to create unnecessary tension.Published - November 07, 2025 09:24 pm IST
