Samsung has previewed its newest HDR format. It is called HDR10+ Advanced, and it has most of the features similar to Dolby Vision 2, which was launched a couple of months ago. This new HDR format is for newer-generation high-end TVs that have started to hit 4,000 to 5,000 nits of brightness.HDR10+ Advanced offers more control and higher accuracy. It also aims to improve the visuals of streamed games.HDR10+ Advanced is here to rival Dolby Vision 2HDR10+ Advanced brings six key upgrades to offer better visuals. So, we expect the format to debut in January 2026.Samsung said during a media briefing earlier this week that Amazon Prime Video is already on board with HDR10+ Advanced. So, we can expect at least some HDR10+ Advanced content to become available on Prime Video next year.HDR10+ Advanced is a perfect rival to Dolby Vision 2 and, like HDR10+, it’s a royalty-free HDR format. However, given the slow adoption of HDR10+ by production houses and streaming services, it’s uncertain if HDR10+ Advanced will improve matters.Samsung also worked with Google to create an open-source and royalty-free spatial audio format called Eclipsa Audio.
