If you went to the Symposium in Poznań, you may have noticed we were selling this lovely passports. They were so popular that we want to share the creators behind them. They were developed and designed by Yunkyung Choi from Urban Sketchers Incheon and based on a design they did for their own chapter in 2020.  Younseok Oh from Urban Sketchers Jeonju helped translation and logistics. Here is the story about how they came to be.Yunkyung Choi (Ggangnyang) – Urban Sketchers IncheonInstagram: @ggangyang624I am Yunkyung Choi, organizer of Urban Sketchers Incheon. Our chapter started unofficially at the end of 2017. By 2019, as the group grew, some members suggested, “Why not go on drawing trips to other cities around the world?”When the COVID-19 pandemic made travel impossible, we thought, “Even if we stay here, let’s experience travel through urban sketching.” This led to the creation of the first Urban Sketchers Incheon Passport in September 2020. In a way, the pandemic became the spark for this idea. The passport was designed to closely resemble an actual passport, including its cover and inner pages. During outdoor meetings with masks, stamping the chapter passport became an especially meaningful ritual. The small batch quickly sold out due to unexpected popularity. Later, in October 2021, a new version was sold as merchandise at the Gyeongju Urban Sketch Festival. In 2022, we presented the passport and locally published books to HQ organizers including Gabriel Campanario, Genine, and Patrick. Genine was particularly impressed by the concept, which sparked the discussion of a global Urban Sketchers Passport at the symposium.Following this, HQ requested support to produce passports for the Buenos Aires symposium. Youngseok Oh from the Jeonju chapter acted as a liaison, translating between HQ and Incheon, handling production in Korea, and shipping internationally to Mohan in the UK.It is incredibly rewarding to see this Incheon-initiated idea bring joy to urban sketchers worldwide. We hope it fosters exchange between cities, and that passport holders will one day visit Incheon to participate in sketch walks and collect chapter stamps.Youngseok Oh (Young) – Urban Sketchers JeonjuInstagram: @usk_youngOur chapter began activities in October 2020, and was officially recognized on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.In 2022, I served as an interpreter for international artists at the Gyeongju Urban Sketch Festival, meeting Gabriel, Genine, Patrick, Alvin, and others. Encouraged by Genine, I became Asia Sponsorship Coordinator.I participated in my first symposium in 2023 in New Zealand and joined the Asia Link Sketch Walk sponsorship team in Suwon the same year. When I began as Sponsorship Coordinator, the director was Mohan. On Genine’s recommendation, we decided to produce a global version of the Incheon Passport, originally used as merchandise locally. I handled translation, production in Korea, and shipping to Mohan in the UK.Due to a FedEx error, the passports initially planned for the 2024 Buenos Aires symposium went missing. I was surprised and delighted to hear that they were used at the 2025 Poznan symposium.Working as a Sponsorship Coordinator and contributing to Urban Sketchers in this way has been a rewarding experience.Did you get a passport in Poznań?If so, show us your stamps, tag us, and tell us! #uskpassportThe post USk Passports appeared first on Urban Sketchers.
