Obviously the clubs usually sell players to buy new players, but not always. Also spending insane money might not always work out, like Liverpool spending almost 500M in the last window, Barca's era of Coutinho, Dembele and Griezmann signings and well Chelsea. Some examples, failures and success: Liverpool spent 480M in the last window, hilarious looking back at it, just to have the season that they are having now. PSG have spent over 800M in the last 3 seasons alone, it turned out a success since they won their first UCL and stand a good chance of going back to back. Chelsea have spent over 1 billion in the last 3 seasons alone, just to walk away with a conference league. Since Arteta, Arsenal have spent well into the billions. I will not speak on their achievements. In Liverpool's Klopp era, a nice amount money was spent, around 1B under all those years under Klopp. It was a success since he brought Liverpool back. How do clubs who are smaller or with financial restrictions compete against them? If you were to add a rule on transfers, what would it be? submitted by /u/jasonsamosa [link] [comments]
